Tournament Rules
- NSKA tournament Arbitrator will make final ruling for ALL disputes in accordance with the rules of the NSKA.
- NSKA tournament promoters must not be involved in disputes. All disputes must be directed to the tournament arbitrator ( NO EXCEPTIONS!).
- Protest of the ring judge decision to the arbitrator can only be made by the competitor or said competitor's instructor.
- Divisions must be run in accordance with the flyer. Combining of divisions is NOT permitted.
- Judging of one's own student is NOT be permitted.
- Exhibition matches during the tournament is NOT permitted.
- Coaching from the side lines is Prohibited.
- Arguing the final decision of the arbitrator is prohibited.
- ANY action deemed disruptive to the tournament is not allowed.
- Any action deemed fraudulent is not permitted.
- All competitors must compete in their proper school uniforms and have their own safety gear. Sparring gear must include but is not limited to: HEAD GEAR, MOUTHPIECE, GROIN CUP, AND FOOT GEAR. COMPETITORS MUST WEAR MOUTHPIECE WITH PROTECTIVE FACE GEAR OR (A CAGE). NO RING STAR SHOES OR ANY OTHER STYLE FOOT GEAR OF THAT NATURE IS ALLOWED.
- Weighted hand gear and solid rubber sole foot gear is not permitted.
- Center judge must control the ring at all times.
- ALL CALLS MUST BE MADE AT THE SAME TIME.
- Two second rule-No intentional falling on ground.
- Cartwheel kicks are only permitted in BLACK BELT divisions.
Weapons and Forms Rules
- Once the 1st competitor of a division has bowed into the ring NO late competitors will be allowed to enter the division. (NO EXCEPTIONS).
- With five(5) or more competitors the judges are required to view the first three competitors, and then call the competitors back up for scoring.
- All under-belt competitors will have one (1) opportunity to begin after a mistake with no deduction points.
- Black belt competitors will NOT be permitted to begin again after a mistake.
- Shape weapons are not permitted to his the tournament floor.
- All bladed weapons must be inspected by the center judge.
- When it is three (3) judges in the event of a two (2) way tie, the judges will determine the winner by a show of hands. In a three (3) way tie, the competitors must redo the form again.
- With five (5) judges, always remember to first exclude the high and low score. If it is still tied, then the competitors are required to redo the form.
SCORES ARE AS FOLLOWS
- Beginner 5.0 (low) to 7.0 (high)
- Intermediate 6.0 (low) to 8.0 (high)
- Advanced 7.0 (low) to 9.0 (high)
- Black Belts 9.0 (low) to 10 (high)
Sparring Rules
- Under-belts- (2) minutes- (3) points
- Black Belts- (2) minutes- (5) points
- if tied after- (2) minutes, NO CLOCK, first to score wins
- POINTS AND HAND TECHNIQUES, (1) POINT-KICKS
- Contact with head gear is permitted- All head gear is a point EXCEPT THE FACE.
- No sweeping of the supporting leg.
- No grabbing or throwing.
- No face contact.
- No focus to face.
- No groin contact.
- No running out of the ring or turning back to avoid a point strike.
- Warning must be issued if competitor continually runs out of the ring.
- ONLY HEAD GEAR, CHEST AND STOMACH, are targets. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- There will be two (2) warnings per infraction, after the second warning the competitor is disqualified.
- Separate infractions are counted separately.
- BLOOD- AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATION
- Any disrespect to an official by a competitor or anyone associated with said competitor may result in disqualification.
- "ONE FOOT IN RULE"- IF A COMPETITOR HAD ONE FOOT INSIDE THE RING AND ONE FOOT OUTSIDE HE/SHE CAN BE SCORED ON AND/OR SCORE A POINT, JUST AS LONG AS ONE FOOT STAYS INSIDE THE RING.
- NO GROUND FIGHTING TECHNIQUES FOR UNDER-BELTS.
